Video Description
Today I’ll be talking about a new feature from Google that allows you to search by using an image as your quote unquote keyword.

One of the latest Google features to be unrolled is “Search by Image.” What this allows you to do is to begin your Google search with an image…so entering an image in the search box will produce all sorts of results related to that image. For example entering an image of a band might produce results related to the band website, discography, or tour dates.

There are four ways to use “Search by Image”. One way is to simply drag and drop from the web or from your computer in the Google images search box. The second way is to upload an image from your computer using the camera icon. Third, you can copy and paste an image URL. And last, if you’re using Google Chrome, you can download an extension that allows you to right click and image and search directly from there.

So how is it done? Google uses computer vision techniques to match your image to other images in the Google Images index and additional image collections. From those matches, Google tries to generate an accurate "best guess" text description of your image, as well as find other images that have the same content as your search image. Your search results page can show results for that text description as well as related images.

Google says that the technique is similar to Google's glasses on the move, but a sophisticated desktop experience. Google has announced several new features, such as desktop search, and voice support for a new mobile user interface.
