Thanks for your comment,
Shawn. I agree with you about “ad extension fatigue.” Ad extensions
are great and help improve headline click-thru-rate but they also have many
nuances and used incorrectly can hurt the advertiser. As far as
prediction #2, Google needs to do something about giving advertisers more
clarity in the Search Partner Network. Advertisers are smarter about PPC
than ever before and this lack of detail isn’t going to cut it anymore.

Thanks for checking out the
video!

It would indeed be interesting to view a list of top ecommerce search terms for 2011, however it would be very difficult to create such a list...and to my knowledge one does not exist at the moment (post if you find one!). For example, would terms like "led lighting", "paintings" or "health supplements" be ecommerce searches, or would they be informational searches? There are hundreds of thousands of these ambiguous searches. My recommendation would be to select your ecommerce niche and conduct keyword research around that specific area of interest for the 2011 time period.

Great predictions, Matt. I'm a little concerned that customers are going to suffer "ad extension fatigue" with all of the new features Google has added to PPC ads in the last year (and 2012, most likely). Also, I really hope you're right about prediction #2 - that's something I've wanted since I started out doing PPC over three years ago.

I made a few 2012 predictions of my own on my blog yesterday. You can check them out here: http://ppcwithoutpity.com/three-ppc-predictions-for-2012/.

Online media and the social networks are the new trends following in the ad market. With the huge number of people visiting the social networks it has become the target area to catch up the new customers. Thanks for sharing the post. It was good to know about the latest trends following.
